2025CPSE:How does Sony FCB-ER9500 break through traditional security with its “black technology”

When traditional security cameras frequently fail in low-light, backlight, and high-speed moving scenarios, SONY’s FCB-ER9500 directly addresses the industry’s pain points with its three core technologies: 4K 60fps ultra-high definition, STARVIS2 sensor, and intelligent dynamic compensation. From October 28th to 31st, 2025, at booth 1C43 in Hall 1 of the 20th China International Exhibition on Public Security and Safety, Ruiloog Electronic, the official authorized distributor of SONY (China), will showcase this “sky Eye” level camera and reveal the future answer of security monitoring.

I. The “Fatal Flaw” of Traditional Security: How does SONY FCB-ER9500 Break Through?
In the field of security monitoring, traditional cameras often encounter three major problems:
1) “Blind spot” in low-light environments: At night or in low-light scenes, the picture is blurry, colors are distorted, and even details are lost due to reliance on infrared supplementary lighting.
2) Dynamic scene “trailing” : When capturing fast-moving targets (such as vehicles and pedestrians), a frame rate of 30 frames causes the picture to lag and license plates to be blurred.
3) Complex lighting “imbalance” : In backlit or alternating light and dark scenes, highlights are overexposed, dark areas are completely black, and key information is lost.

2. SONY FCB-ER9500 solution:
1) STARVIS2 Sensor: “Colorful Eyes” in Low Light
The SONY FCB-ER9500 is equipped with a 1/1.8-inch STARVIS2 CMOS sensor, which can output color images even in a low light of 0.028Lx, with a minimum light of 0.00016Lx (nearly no light environment). In the test of an automated terminal at a certain port, the ground QR code navigation signs of AGVs could still be clearly captured under weak light at night, reducing manual intervention and greatly improving the operation efficiency.

2) 4K60 frames per second Motion Capture: “High-definition Freeze” of high-speed targets
The SONY FCB-ER9500 supports 60 frames per second output at 4K resolution and, combined with a 25x optical zoom lens, completely eliminates motion blur. During the actual test on a certain expressway section, the license plate details of speeding vehicles were captured in real time, and the accuracy rate of license plate recognition was extremely high.

3) High dynamic range and wide dynamic range: The “Balance Master” in Backlit scenes
By using multi-frame synthesis technology, both highlights and dark details can be captured simultaneously, solving the problems of overexposure of faces and underexposure of license plates in backlit conditions. In the port monitoring at sunrise, the colors and details of the cranes (bright areas) and containers (dark areas) are all clearly distinguishable.

Ii. From Security to Industry: SONY FCB-ER9500’s “All-Scenario Conquest”
The breakthrough technology of SONY FCB-ER9500 makes it a “must-have” in multiple fields:
1. Urban security: 24-hour “all-round” protection
Nighttime security monitoring: The Super Starlight night vision function of SONY FCB-ER9500 can effectively enhance the performance of nighttime monitoring. Its 0.028Lx low-light color image output enables key information such as human features and vehicle details in night scenes to be clearly retained, providing more reliable visual evidence for night public security monitoring.

Border patrol: In large-scale scenarios with high requirements for concealment, such as border patrol, the low-light performance of SONY FCB-ER9500 demonstrates unique value. It can form clear images in a low-light environment of 0.00016Lx (weak light), basically without relying on supplementary lights, effectively avoiding the exposure of monitoring points due to active lighting, and providing technical support for real-time monitoring of illegal cross-border activities.

In addition, the 25x optical zoom capability of this device further ensures the clarity of detail capture at a distance

2. Intelligent Transportation: Precise Capture in Complex environments
Traffic violation capture: The SONY FCB-ER9500, through its zone auto exposure function, supports 16 independent zone parameter adjustments within the frame. Even when the lens is directly exposed to strong light, it can still clearly identify the details of the license plate’s reflective coating.

The SONY FCB-ER9500 is equipped with a 25x optical zoom lens, with a focal length range of 6.5mm to 162.5mm, allowing for seamless switching from broad scenes to long-distance details with ease. Combined with 12x digital zoom, it can achieve a maximum zoom effect of 360x, enabling clear capture of vehicle license plates hundreds of meters away in traffic monitoring.

3. Industrial Monitoring: From “Passive Recording” to “Active Early Warning”
Production line quality inspection: In the PCB board inspection scenario, a high frame rate of 60 frames can clearly record the dynamic changes of tiny components on the conveyor belt, effectively reducing the rate of missed inspections.

4. Emergency Rescue: The “Eye of Life” in the Darkness
Nighttime disaster reconnaissance: In the collapsed buildings after an earthquake, the intelligent switching technology of the ICR infrared cut-off filter of the FCB-ER9500 can output low-noise, high-definition color images in low-light conditions, helping rescue personnel locate trapped people.
Rain and fog penetration: The three-level fog penetration function combined with infrared spectroscopy analysis clearly restores the contours of buildings and the features of vehicles, enhancing the target recognition distance in rainy and foggy weather.

Iii. 2025CPSE Security Expo: Experience “Future Security” Firsthand
From October 28th to 31st, 2025, at booth 1C43 in Hall 1 of the 2025CPSE Security Expo in Shenzhen, Ruiloog Electronic (the official authorized distributor of SONY China) will showcase the three core innovative achievements of FCB-ER9500

Dual version display: SONY FCB-ER9500 and its reduced weight version (approximately 310 grams after weight reduction) will both be showcased at the 2025 Security Expo, capable of meeting the demands of various scenarios, such as drone mobile security.

Solution With 16 years of practical experience in the secondary development of high-definition video, Ruiloog Electronic has independently developed 4K HDMI, 4KP60 HDMI, 4KP60 AI network, 12G-SDI and other interface boards for SONY FCB-ER9500, achieving high-speed transmission of 4K signals at 12Gbps and high frame rate transmission at 4K60fps. Compatible with mainstream platforms such as Hikvision and Dahua.
