Medical visual upgrade: The technological leap from FCB-EV7520 to FCB-EV9520L

In today’s era of rapid development in medical technology and comprehensive deepening of intelligent healthcare, high-definition and highly stable image acquisition devices have become the core support in clinical diagnosis, surgical navigation, endoscopic examination, and other fields. As the “visual center” of medical equipment, high-performance camera modules can provide doctors with clearer and more accurate real-time images, thereby significantly improving the efficiency of diagnosis and surgery and enhancing the safety of surgical operations.

The Sony FCB-EV7520 integrated high-definition camera modules, which were widely used in various medical visual systems, provided reliable video acquisition and transmission solutions for numerous medical device enterprises, helping them maintain their technological advantages in the market competition.

Ⅰ. Product Iteration, Medical Vision Sees New Options

With the advancement of technology and the upgrading of market demands, Sony has officially discontinued the FCB-EV7520 series and has launched an upgraded model – FCB-EV9520L, which is more powerful and has more functions. This module will make its debut at the 11th Shenzhen International Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Exhibition and provide a new generation of high-precision visual system solutions for the medical industry.

II. Smooth Transition, Control Upgrade Costs

For medical institutions and equipment manufacturing enterprises, upgrade costs and system compatibility are key considerations. The FCB-EV9520L maintains a high degree of consistency in appearance size, weight, and output interfaces with the FCB-EV7520. It supports plug-and-play functionality and can be compatible with the mechanical structure and circuit layout of the original system. This means that most users can complete the replacement without having to re-mold or adjust the overall architecture, significantly reducing upgrade costs and the debugging cycle.

To better meet the demand for lightweight design in medical equipment, we have specially launched the FCB-EV9520L lightweight version. Through structural optimization, the weight has been reduced from 239 grams to approximately 165 grams, which is beneficial for enhancing the operational flexibility and endurance performance of handheld devices and mobile medical robots, among other applications.

III. Comprehensive Performance Enhancement, Capable of Meeting High-Standard Medical Scenarios

The FCB-EV9520L adopts a new-generation 1/2.8-inch STARVIS 2 CMOS sensor, which performs exceptionally well in low-light conditions. The color mode has a minimum illumination of 0.009Lx, and the infrared mode has been further optimized compared to the previous generation. Its newly added “Super Image Stabilization” function provides two enhanced modes, S and S+, which can output smooth and stable images even when the equipment is moved during the operation or when there is equipment vibration.

In addition, the FCB-EV9520L also features a wide dynamic range, high sensitivity, and advanced functions such as three-zone intelligent exposure/focusing/balance. Even in complex lighting conditions, it can maintain rich image details and true color reproduction, meeting the strict requirements for image quality in scenarios such as endoscopic surgery, microscopic imaging, remote diagnosis, and medical robot navigation.
