The relationship between white balance adjustment and color temperature of SONY FCB camera

The definition of white balance has explained that making white white requires the correct use of white balance, and general digital cameras have a variety of white balance modes to cope with the need for normal color restoration under different light sources. Common white balance modes are: automatic, daylight, cloudy, cloudy, tungsten lamp (incandescent lamp), flash, fluorescent lamp, color temperature value, etc. In addition to allowing the camera to accurately reproduce colors, white balance also helps us create and create the tones we want.

The white balance Settings in the camera are like AWB, color temperature, cloudy, automatic, shadow, etc., so what is AWB? Very simple, is the meaning of automatic White Balance (Auto White Balance), automatic is to make the camera to judge the current state of the light to choose the appropriate white balance. Although the camera is now intelligent enough, in some indoor environments with weak light, the automatic mode will still produce some unavoidable color bias, and this time we must set the white balance according to the light at that time.

White balance and color temperature

In some environments, the commonly used white balance mode does not meet the professional needs, and this time you need the help of color temperature. There are different color temperature values in different environments, as long as the correct color temperature value is used, you can get the correct color reproduction. Color temperature for digital cameras is the problem of white balance, in different environments, white objects change the most obvious: in the indoor tungsten light, white objects look orange color, in such light conditions to shoot out the scene will be yellow; But if it is under a blue sky, it will have a blue tint. In such light conditions, the scene will be bluish. In order to reduce the impact of external light on the target color as much as possible, the original color of the target can be restored under different color temperature conditions, and the digital camera is required to perform color correction to achieve the correct color balance.

The most traditional white balance is set with 18% gray plate, which is generally taken into the photo as a control group, so that the gray plate and the subject are as close to the same lighting conditions as possible, including the Angle of light. In the later stage, the neutral color is selected in PS to correct the white balance on the gray board. For the color light of the same scene, the lower the color temperature of the camera is set, the greater the difference in the actual color temperature of the color moderate scene, and the bluer the photo is. The reverse is true. In other words, this is the effect of the difference in the actual color temperature of the camera when shooting, which is another problem. White balance and “color temperature” have a direct relationship, white balance is a very important color control option in photography, but also important in the post color.

Automatic, ATW, indoor, outdoor, one-click WB, manual WB, outdoor automatic, sodium vapor lamp (fixed/automatic/outdoor automatic).

SONY fcb cameras have a variety of white balance adjustment modes, according to the current application environment, you can choose automatic, manual, indoor, outdoor, automatic tracking white balance, one-click WB, outdoor automatic, sodium lamp automatic/manual, when we choose manual adjustment, adjust the red gain or blue gain, so as to improve the strength of the image signal to obtain a clear image.
