How hard disk video recorders work

The DVR mainly converts the real-time video signal into digital signal through the camera, and then compresses it and stores it in the hard disk. DVRS usually have multiple video input channels and can be connected to multiple cameras at the same time for recording. It also has a video output interface, which can output the recorded video signal to the display device for real-time monitoring or playback.

Hard disk video recorder uses hard disk as the main storage medium and can store a large amount of video data. By using different hard disk capacities and configurations, video storage requirements for different time periods can be met. In general, hard disk recorders support circular recording function, that is, when the hard disk storage space is insufficient, it will automatically overwrite the earliest recording data.

DVR also has some additional functions and features, such as remote access and control, intelligent alarm, video analysis, etc. Through the network connection, users can remotely access and control the DVR through devices such as mobile phones, tablets or computers, view the monitoring screen in real time, play back the video, set parameters, etc.

Hard disk video recorders can be classified according to different classification criteria. Here are some common DVR classifications:

Number of video input channels: According to the number of video input channels supported by DVR, it can be divided into single-channel DVR, 4-channel DVR, 8-channel DVR, 16-channel DVR and other different specifications of DVR. DVRS with different channel numbers can simultaneously record and manage video signals from multiple cameras.

Hard disk video recorder working principle

Single-channel DVR: Suitable for individuals or small venues, such as homes, small shops, etc., where only a single area or entrance needs to be monitored.

4 channel /8 channel /16 channel DVR: Suitable for small and medium-sized commercial places, office buildings, restaurants, hotels and other scenarios that need to monitor multiple areas at the same time.

Storage mode: According to the storage mode of DVR, it can be divided into internal hard disk DVR and external storage DVR. Built-in hard disk The DVR has a built-in hard disk for storing recorded video files; External storage DVR can be stored through external hard disk, network storage and other ways.

Built-in hard disk DVR: Suitable for small security monitoring systems, such as home security systems, small stores, etc., you can directly store the video in the built-in hard disk, simple and convenient.

External storage DVR: Suitable for places requiring large capacity storage, such as large business centers, banks, schools, etc., can be stored through external hard disks, network storage and other ways.

Network connection mode: According to the network connection mode of DVR, it can be divided into wired DVR and wireless DVR. Wired DVR is connected to LAN or Internet through wired network to achieve remote access and control; Wireless DVR is connected via wireless network.

Wired DVR: Suitable for scenarios requiring high stability and large bandwidth, such as banks, commercial centers, prisons, etc., can be connected to the LAN or the Internet through a wired network to achieve remote access and control.

Wireless DVR: Suitable for temporary monitoring, mobile monitoring and other scenarios, such as on-site construction monitoring, vehicle monitoring, no wiring, through the wireless network connection.

Functional characteristics: According to the functional characteristics of DVR, it can be divided into ordinary DVR and advanced DVR. Ordinary DVRS provide basic recording, storage, and playback functions, while advanced DVRS may have more features, such as remote access, video analysis, intelligent alarms, and more.

Ordinary DVR: suitable for general monitoring needs, providing basic recording, storage and playback functions, suitable for homes, small stores and other places.

Advanced DVR: suitable for more complex monitoring needs, with more functions, such as remote access, video analysis, intelligent alarm, etc., suitable for large business centers, schools, traffic management and other places.

Use environment: According to the use environment of DVR, it can be divided into indoor DVR and outdoor DVR. Indoor DVR is suitable for indoor monitoring environment, while outdoor DVR has waterproof, dustproof and other characteristics, which is suitable for outdoor monitoring environment.

Indoor DVR: Suitable for indoor monitoring environment, such as office buildings, stores, schools, etc.

Outdoor DVR: Suitable for outdoor monitoring environment, such as parking lots, parks, public places, etc., with waterproof, dustproof and other characteristics.

HD-SDI DVR is a 4-channel (4-channel), built-in hard disk, wired indoor ordinary DVR, which can meet the application needs of most industries, including security monitoring, smart medical and other industries.
